Vision is oftentimes taken for granted, but around 2.2. billion of people worldwide are suffering from defective vision. In our everyday life and globally, almost every 7th person could be helped by a simple pair of eyeglasses. Many people living in developing countries do not have the means to eyeglasses.
Jonas has been pursuing the vision of providing disadvantaged people worldwide with affordable, locally produced eyeglasses since 2010. He is currently responsible for the purchase, quality, and distribution of eyeglass lenses at EinDollarBrille e.V.

Project Coordinator – Bangladesh 2014 🇧🇩

Together with the German team, he established the pilot, trained around 20 nurses in producing frames at the Grameen Eye Hospital in Bogra, and reached out sales to rural areas.

Project Leader – Germany 2014 🇩🇪

During his studies, he led and supported around 20 students of the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Project Work in promoting and fundraising activities and collected €2000+ from 2014 until 2016

Quality Manager – China 2015 🇨🇳

To ensure the quality standards of 100,000s eyeglass lenses, he visited our local partner at the lens manufacturing plant near Hangzhou and fostered the personal international collaboration.

Sales Trainer – Malawi 2015 🇲🇼

As part of his internship, he led and supported the local team in testing and expanding marketing channels, sales and logistics activities in urban and rural areas of Zomba and Blantyre.
